Ingredient checker
Paste an ingredient list from the pack or the shop page. Choose up to three things you avoid. See which of them are listed, under any of their names.
A label check cannot rule out ingredients that are not listed, or cross-contact in the factory.
Your first check is included.
What it looks for
Labels rarely use the word you are looking for. Tahini is sesame. Malt extract is made from barley, a gluten grain. Whey is milk. Parfum is fragrance. The checker knows these other names in English and in the label languages Pura reads, plus the INCI names cosmetics use, such as Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis for almond.
It also knows what not to match. Cocoa butter is not dairy, nutmeg is not a nut, maltodextrin is not malt, and cetearyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol, not the drying kind. A “may contain” line is shown on its own, because it is a precaution about shared equipment, not an ingredient.
It works as a skincare ingredient checker too: fragrance, alcohol and the retinoids usually paused in pregnancy are on the list.
What a label check cannot tell you
It reads only what is printed. It cannot see cross-contact in a factory, an ingredient left off the list, or how much of something a product contains. Where a label says only fragrance, there is nothing under that word to read; patch testing can tell you more. If a reaction could be serious, the manufacturer and your clinician are the people to ask.
